Movember! Movember! Movember no more!

By kaydo at 6:00 pm on Thursday, November 30, 2006

Gala tix to celebrate the end of Movember are available NOW.  They are $33 each and get you in to King O’Malleys from 6pm on Movember 30th for fun and festivities.  If you thought Boonie or Merv had a little something special about them, you might enjoy this one a bit too much.

If you’re still yet to sponsor someone, time to cash in on the guilt.  Chip in for fellow PANTS-ters Mr Holder (21968) or Dno (21953).

More info from the official Movember website.

Event: World Long Distance Triathlon 2006

By kaydo at 8:00 am on Sunday, November 19, 2006

19/11: Um wow.  So apparently Canberra is hosting the world long distance triathlon for 2006 and its on the 16th of November.  Too late to start training?  Well I guess if the swim leg is in Lake Burley G, chances are I’m fitter now than I would be if I touched that water.  Anyway, could be quite a spectacle, check it out: http://worldlongdistance2006.com/

Dog on the Tuckerbox festival (Gundagai)

By joinpants at 10:00 am on Friday, November 17, 2006

Official description: “This Festival has become great reunion weekend with many former residents returning to catch up with relatives and friends and savour the best the district has to offer. A feature of the Festival is the Snake Gully Cup Racing Carnival run over 2 days at the picturesque Gundagai Race Course with in excess of $100,000 in prizemoney.”

Either way, it’s country zaniness.  More info.

PANTS: Where the frisbee never stops

By kaydo at 9:57 am on Friday, November 17, 2006

Another month and another crazy funfilled frisbee related event.  Seriously, there’s a lot going on in Canberra this weekend (non-disc related):

  • World Long Distance Triathlon
  • Hartley Life Care Challenge ride from Canberra to the Snowy
  • “Dog’s day out “in Commonwealth Park
  • Cat Empire and their carnivale entertainment at Stage 88 on Sunday.

If you want to wait it out for next weekend, I propose we take up GMan’s fine suggestion of Disc Golf in Woden(Eddison Park) on November 25. $5 entry. Sounds like a piece of cake. More details at: http://www.afda.com/showtournament.php?tournamentid=290 .  This will also be excitedly be added to the event calendar.  Disc golf is an example of a true PANTS event.

Want to be famous?

By joinpants at 8:00 am on Friday, November 17, 2006

Want to be famous?  Chances are if you make it, it will be for something less than cool.  If you’re determined, maybe start with a simple gig and work your way up to it?  It just so happens that Dno had a brilliant suggestion.  Check out the EORMedia website for details on their call for extras this weekend (Nov 19th).  You’ve got to email them to get a place.  It might be the first step on a road to fame, or something to note as a lesson learned.

Gotta give it a shot.  If it works out, mention us in an awards speech.  Thanks.
